In the Spring of 2005, I toured Slovenia and Croatia with Grand
Circle Travel. I went alone but met many friendly and interesting people on the trip. Altho we travelled by motor
coach, we spent most of our nights in just a few places, visiting a variety of cities and towns on day-trips.
I was surprised and pleased by this region about which I had known
very little. Both Slovenia and Croatia were part of the former Yugoslavia which was created after the demise of the
Austro-Hungarian Empire in World War I. Both coutries have a long and interesting history of their own.
Of course, the Dalmation Coast is now becoming the new Riviera!
