I joined a tour to visit some of the best of the Classic Maya sites in early 2005. We cruised along
the Caribbean coast of Honduras, Guatemala and Belize.

We first visited Copan (A) in Honduras.
After a tour of the museum and market in San Pedro Sula, we proceeded to board our cruise ship, the Yorktown Clipper, in
Puerto Cortes.
We spent a lazy day snorkeling in the pristine waters off Utila Isle and then another day touring
and beachcombing on Roatan. A boat ride up the Rio Dulce and a visit to the Mayan ruins at Quirigua (B)
in Guatemala followed.
After a visit to Belize, we drove to our final destination at the great Classic Maya site
of Tikal (C) in Guatemala.
